Running in honor of: My uncle, Carlos Gomez. He lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in 2006.

Bio: As a passionate Communications professional, I understand the increasingly important role that Communications plays in contributing to enterprise-wide goals, influencing organizational cultures, and defining corporate and social responsibility. Currently, I hold the position of Associate Executive Director and Director of Communications at Cardiovascular Credentialing International, where my role is busy and exciting. I am responsible for ensuring that the organization's marketing and communication functions are aligned with its strategic goals. The work we do at Cardiovascular Credentialing International makes a significant difference in the lives of countless healthcare professionals. I feel a deep sense of satisfaction knowing that our efforts are helping people achieve their dreams and improving the lives of patients. In 2024 I joined the Advisory Board of Love Literacy, whose mission is to significantly increase literacy achievement for students in Forsyth County with the greatest need by mobilizing and equipping a community of partners, advocates, and supporters who are committed to literacy as a key driver of student and community success. I am also an Assistant Catechist at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem. My favorite role in life is being Casey's wife and Cole's mom!
